C4 axe hit comedy with Sex Education star leaving fans devastated | The Sun
SEX Education star Tanya Reynolds's new Channel 4 comedy I Hate You has been axed after only one season.
The series saw Tanya, best known as Lily on the Netflix fave, partner up with Melissa Saint as two best friends trying to navigate their late 20s.
Between the ups and downs of working in a job you hate, trying to make rent and joining the complicated world of dating, the best mates rely on each other to get through it.
The series was created by Friday Night Dinner's Robert Popper, the cast and writer seemed like a formula for success.
But Channel 4 has now confirmed they "currently have no plans for a second season".
Reasons for their decision is not known, but the series was torpedoed by critics when it was first released.

Earning a rating of just 5.6/10 on IMDb, The Guardian dismissed the show was "like watching two grown women possessed by the spirit of puerile teenage boys" – adding the plot "meandered and didn't know where it was going".
It fared even worse at The Telegraph, who gave the show only 1/5 stars and said the series was a "dog's dinner". They wrote: "Creator Popper and his two talented leads are far better than this disappointing mess."
However, it fared a lot better at Metro.co.uk, who found the silly show 'relatable' and said: "Reynolds and Saint fire off Popper’s trademark bonkers dialogue with wit and precision while maintaining a warm, natural chemistry."
However, it seemed to fair better with the millennial audience that did watch it, with one heartbroken at the news and writing: "One of the best watches of last year and it got axed !? what a silly decision from @Channel4."
