The first episode of Channel 5’s Beyond The Yorkshire Farm saw Reuben tasked to dig a series of wilderness ponds in the village of Langwathby in Cumbria. After recruiting his girlfriend Sarah and best friend Tom, the team encountered a day of trouble with the machinery. Clive helped the youngsters get back on their feet and rewarded his son with some bonding time, however, Reuben didn’t seem too keen on the offer.

As the team got on with the job, their day was halted as the tracks on their machinery came loose and fell off.

After working out what the issue was, Reuben called on the help of his father to set off and find a new part for the machine.

The pair headed back to Reuben’s training ground, where he spent £300 on the part needed to fix the machine.

Making it back to the site, Reuben, Clive and his team banded together to ensure the machinery was back in shape to finish the job.

Trying to fix the track took out a large chunk of their day, with Clive treating his son to a cold beer to celebrate his success.

As they walked into the pub, Clive said: “Get in there Reub! Well, I think it is time my friend, you can buy me a pint!”

Reuben asked: “I’m buying am I?” to which Clive added: “Yeah, that would be good! I’ll have a pint of black sheep, please.

“I don’t know the last time you bought me a pint, Reub,” Clive teased.

Reuben clapped back: “I don’t think I ever have actually. First and last.”

During the episode, viewers were given a look back at Reuben’s early life on the farm and where his passions first began.

Touching on how proud he was of his son, Clive beamed: “He never ceases to amaze me. He has just been wheeling and dealing with a lot.

“He has saved and saved and saved and we encourage him and help him along the way and who knows where this will lead.

“We will just have to wait and see because Reuben, you just never know! Reuben just put him on a machine and he is absolutely in his element.

“He seems to be able to just understand the machine and make it do its thing, that is just his way I think.”

Viewers of their previous show Our Yorkshire Farm were ecstatic to see the pair back on their screens and took to their Twitter to applaud their relationship.
