Coronation Street's Andy Whyment hints at Kirk and Beth reunion despite dramatic split | The Sun
I’M A Celebrity star Andy Whyment has confirmed his future on Coronation Street after Kirk’s shock split with wife Beth.
The actor took time out from the ITV soap to film the South Africa all stars special in September and has now opened up life since returning to the UK.
Andy has played Kirk for 23 years and returned to a dramatic storyline that saw Kirk’s wife Beth Tinker (Lisa George) cheat with her ex.
But there could be hope for the much-loved couple.
In an exclusive chat, Andy said: “Obviously Kirk and Beth have split up because Beth kissed Marco.
“But who knows in the near future they might get back together again. Hopefully.”
The storyline unravelled after Beth’s ex Marco (Paul Albertson) moved to Weatherfield and began a flirtation.
After sharing a moment at the swings, Faye Windass (Ellie Leace) then caught Beth out on a date at a hotel bar.

He went on: “Growing up I used to love Jack and Vera, they are my favourite characters, so for me it was amazing, I’d pinch myself walking on set thinking I’d got a scene with Bill and Liz – Jack and Vera.
“There’s been a lot of iconic characters over the years where you think, how is Corrie going to continue when these go, but Corrie is a machine and is still being watched by millions of people.
“I’ve seen a lot of people come and go, thinking they’re going to go on to bigger and better things but Corrie for me is my number one, it always has and always will be.
“I grew up watching it as a kid and when I drive up to those barriers in the morning and they lift them up, I think ‘I'm still working on Coronation Street’.
“But I’ve got no intentions of leaving, I’ll stay in Corrie as long as they’ll have me and hopefully that’ll be many more years to come.”
Meanwhile Andy has opened up on why his behaviour in the I’m A Celeb camp meant he had to apologise to his mum after he left on Monday night's show.
And he has revealed that Janice Dickinson “abused” hosts Ant and Dec in camp.
