Corrie casts Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis as older lover for Aadi

Former Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis and Ryan Early, star of The Archers, are set to join the cast of Coronation Street this summer.

The affair storyline will see Courtney Vance – Stephanie’s character – orchestrate an affair with Aadi (Adam Hussain), behind her partner Darren’s back.

Ryan’s character is a business associate of Dev’s (Jimmi Harkishin) and while they spend time talking business, Courtney will set her sights on Aadi.

Stephanie and Ryan will begin filming this week, making their first appearance in July.

Discussing her new role, Stephanie said: ‘I am absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Coronation Street, playing the part of Courtney Vance. Growing up I have always watched and loved the show, so to be part of the biggest TV soap in Britain, which is in the hearts and homes of so many people, is an honour.’

Ryan added: ‘I am so thrilled to be playing Darren Vance on Coronation Street and joining the most iconic Soap. I grew up watching the show with my grandmother so to walk on the cobbles is such an honour.’

Coronation Street Producer Iain MacLeod said: “In Stephanie and Ryan, we have cast two fantastic actors as the catalyst for this fun, fiery storyline. Aadi will quickly find himself way out of his depth as he risks everything for Courtney. And while it is the best time he’s ever had in his life; he stands to end up in a whole heap of trouble!’.

Stephanie is best known for playing Sinead O’Connor in Hollyoaks. She was last seen in the village in 2019 but the following year, Stephanie announced that she had permanently left her role.

At the time, Davis made the announcement via Instagram, sharing a statement along with an image of the words ‘goals: be happy’.

As a caption, Davis wrote: ‘Sometimes we make decisions based not on what we want but what we know is right!

‘I have loved bringing Sinead into your homes for the past ten years but it’s with a heavy heart I have decided to leave Hollyoaks and now looking forward to working on new and exciting projects. Excited!’

Stephanie’s new co-star, Ryan, plays the role of Lee Bryce in the BBC radio drama. He also has credits in ITV’s Grantchester and CBBC’s Almost Never.
