Corrie’s Simon Gregson shuts down ‘hair transplant’ claims after odd accessory

Coronation Street legend Simon Gregson – who plays Steve McDonald on the soap – has shut down rumours that he has had a “hair transplant”.

During Monday’s visit (April 24) to the ITV Cobbles, fans watched the doting dad shower his daughter Amy Barlow with support after she stood up to her rapist Aaron Sandiford at her first party since she was attacked.

However, fans were distracted by the actor’s unusual accessory while watching the emotional scenes play out on screen.

During the hour-long episode, the star is consistently seen wearing a black baseball hat whether he was inside or not.

This pushed fans to presume that the actor had had a dodgy hair cut or even a hair transplant as he hid his hair from prying eyes.

Now, the former I’m A Celebrity star has taken to Instagram to dispel any rumours that he had treated himself to a touch of cosmetic tweakments.

Sharing a snap of himself wearing a white hoodie and a matching white baseball hat from The North Face, he humoured fans on their cheeky comments online.

He captioned the post: “To those who think I've had a hair transplant coz I’m in a hat, I'm also in a hoodie with no boob job. People are strange.”

It didn’t take long before his famous friends and adoring fans flooded to the comments to poke fun at him further immediately after posting.

The actor’s co-star Alan Halsall, who plays the role of Tyrone Dobbs, quipped: “What’s wrong with a hair transplant ?? Asking for a friend [shifty eyes emoji, two cry-laughing emojis].”

Another penned: “I won’t lie, I could imagine Steve having a hair transplant [cry-laughing emoji] @coronationstreet.”
