Who is Ken Jennings' wife Mindy? | The Sun

KEN Jennings became a household name thanks to winning 74 straight rounds of the popular TV game show Jeopardy! in 2004.

Now, Jennings is one of the co-hosts of the show, and viewers are curious to learn more about his wife, Mindy Jennings.

Who is Mindy Jennings?

Mindy Jennings is a former preschool teacher who married Ken Jennings in 2000.

The couple met in 1996 while they were both in college at Bringham Young University in Provo, Utah, and were married soon after graduation.

Mindy was studying drama while Ken was doing a double major in English and computer science.

Mindy has always supported Ken's ambitions.

The show was filmed months ahead of airing, so for a period of time, Mindy was the only person to know about her husband's winning streak.

The couple kept the secret together; not even their parents knew that Ken was competing (or making Jeopardy! history) until the show aired.

In a 2020 interview with Vulture, Ken told the outlet that she was always the first person he called when he returned to the Sony parking garage.

He said: “None of my friends, family, or co-workers knew why I was sneaking away a few times a month.”

While he may have the brains when it comes to trivia and facts, Jennings admits to not knowing everything about parenting.

Jennings spoke to Yahoo! Life about his role as a father in 2021.

He told the outlet: “Parenting is always a moving target: you’re really just responding to the current needs of the kid, which might be different [needs] than six months ago."

“So it’s a lot of listening because the kid will tell you what you need—but it’s not going to be what you expect and it’s not what you remember you needing at their age.”

“For me, being a dad is a lot like being a cruise director, being the smiling face of the family,” he said. “Like, here are the activities, here’s the good attitude (despite everything) — a rah-rah scoutmaster type. That’s not who I am at my core, but as a dad, you kind of have to turn into that.”

Jennings told LifeHacker in a 2018 interview that he was a "perfectly happy suburban dad and computer programmer back in 2004, the year [he] turned thirty."

He added: "I was not expecting to win on Jeopardy! for six months straight and start a new career as a writer and professional know-it-all.”

Is Ken Jennings the new host of Jeopardy!?

After the sad passing of Alex Trebek, Jennings made his first appearance as a guest host of the game show on January 11, 2022.

He wasn't a hit with all viewers, though, with many complaining about his hosting technique.

Despite this, a few months later, it was announced that Jennings would serve as the new host alongside The Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik.
