Diana would not be impressed with the action of her son Prince Harry, according to royal expert Tom Bower. The former BBC journalist slammed the motives behind the new documentary Harry & Meghan as he vented to Dan Wootton on GB News.

The new documentary from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex landed on Netflix on Thursday to much scrutiny.

On GB News, Tom felt one of the most damning parts of the series was Harry’s treatment of his brother, the Prince of Wales.

Dan presented a clip from Meghan in the documentary where she said: “I started to realise pretty quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside.

“That there is a forward facing way of being, then you close the door and go ‘oh we can relax now’ but that formality carries over on both sides and that was surprising to me.”

Royal biographer Tom replied: “But was she even true? This is from a woman who attacks her father mercilessly in the series, a man who she abandoned for months to the media.

“Now [she] presents her mother Doria, speaking for the first time, telling outright lies about her ex-husband.

“This was a calculated attempt against the families.”

Tom added: “I mean the one thing that Samantha Markle predicted was, ‘just like Meghan turned on our family she’ll get Harry to do the same.'”

Meghan’s sister Samantha has previously spoken out against the tell-all documentary from Harry and Meghan.

In his damning assessment of the new documentary, Tom remarked: “What would Diana think of Harry attacking William in that way? She’d be appalled by her son’s behaviour.”

“That was what was so nauseating the way he kept bringing in Diana,” the royal writer added.

Before the much-anticipated launch, Tom joined Samantha on GB News last week.

She was equally upset at the decision by her sister and brother-in-law to let viewers see what life is like in the Royal Family.

The royal relative said: “First of all, we’re in this era of totally contrary definitions.

“You know, so many things seem to be completely opposite of what they really are. We’re redefining everything

“I think the jaw-dropper for me was Harry saying that he had to do everything he could to protect his family.

“When I got out the dictionary, I couldn’t find the way they treated the Royal Family or our family anywhere in the dictionary under protection.

“I thought: ‘What is he talking about? This is not protection.’ If we’re watching a series over here, what we’re seeing is a series of attacks one after the other.

“And it seems irreparable. When you contrast it with what’s going on in reality, it makes no sense whatsoever.”
