EastEnders boss hints at shock Jack and Chelsea affair behind Denise's back
EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw has teased the possibility of a love triangle between Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams).
Denise and Jack are happily married and enjoying their life together as husband and wife, but as viewers know all too well, happiness doesn’t last very long in Walford.
Jack has grown rather close to Chelsea in recent weeks, ands despite their relationship being nothing more than a friendly one, some fans have been concerned about the possibility of an affair, given they were once an item.
Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) was quick to spot their closeness, and even tried to use it as a weapon to toy with Denise, but Denise’s fears were soon put to bed as Chelsea made it clear that Jack was simply assisting her with her financial troubles.
But, despite Chelsea’s reassurances, there could still be heartbreak on the horizon, with EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw weighing in on the potential of a love triangle involving Jack, Denise and her daughter Chelsea.
‘Maybe’, he said in response to an Inside Soap question, when asked if it was a possible storyline. ‘There is history between Jack and Chelsea, after all.
‘Jack and Denise are in a very loving marriage, but they’re about to go through a really testing time with their children – which could potentially create tension within their relationship.
‘Theirs is a really exciting that we’re really enjoying creating stories for’.
Next week, Jack will be focused on daughter Amy (Ellie Dadds), who is going through a really tough time right now.
The policeman arranges a belated birthday dinner for the teen, and Sam decides to get involved, hoping to blag herself an invite to the big event, but her efforts ultimately fail as Denise tells her she’s not welcome.
Sam refuses to give up so easily, and thus comes up with an idea, as she turns her attention to birthday girl Amy, purchasing her a dress for the occasion, before using her key to secure entry to the Branning household, but subsequent scenes see her walk in on Amy – and she’s shocked by what she has witnessed.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
