EASTENDERS star Danny Walters has dropped a huge hint that Keanu Taylor could DIE at Christmas – saying he and Sharon Watts won't get their "happy ending".

The pair called off their engagement after Keanu was left gutted to discover that she had gone behind his back after sparking a secret deal with Lisa, played by Lucy Benjamin.

The couple had been hoping to marry later this year, something fans speculated was a huge part of the upcoming Christmas murder story, but things have all come crashing down for the pair.

Danny, 30, has now revealed that Keanu could be the mystery murder victim that meets a grisly end at Christmas.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Danny said: "I think Keanu would love him and Sharon to have a happy ending – Keanu adores Sharon and idolises her.

"She is his kryptonite and he absolutely loves her.

"But Danny Walters would always say happily ever after don’t really happen in dramas.

"For there to be big storytelling there has to be conflict, for every light you have to have dark.

"I want them to work but I also want them to go through some issues along the way."

Speaking about Keanu and Sharon's rocky relationship, Danny continued: "I think Keanu is a very proud man; he wants to be a provider, the man of the house.

"He’s got a very toxic masculinity in the sense; he’s all about being a man.

"So his ego has been hit when Sharon bought him the arches. He feels sort of emasculated. I think even though he appreciates it, he finds it difficult to put that aside and that creates issues in their relationship.

"And the age difference is a big thing and the history that she has on the square.

"There is a lot of complexities in their relationship which is fun to play."

Danny said he has no idea who will be bumped off in the explosive festive episode, but admitted no one is safe.

"There is a lot of secrecy behind who has done it and who it is, to be honest my theory changes all the time," Danny told us at the TRIC Awards last month.

"What’s really clever about the way Chris Clenshaw has done the story is everyone and the audience has become investigators and I think everyone likes that.

"That’s why great, police and crime series work very well because the audience like to work out who’s done it.

"Even myself, even though I’m in the show, I genuinely don’t know. I’m still trying to work it out – it could be Keanu, it could be Nish, it could be Ravi.

"I don’t know because it sort of could be any male character.

"I think they’re going to really entertain the idea of giving the cufflinks to multiple people along the way.

"I think at some point Keanu will have the cufflinks but we don’t know when."

When asked if BBC bosses are planning on shooting multiple endings, Danny said: "I don’t know, it would be smart if they did have multiple endings."

He laughed: "We’ll see, maybe someone’s contract runs out around Christmas."

Danny – who has been a favourite on the BBC One soap since 2017 – said working alongside icon Leticia Dean has been a dream come true.

He praised their praised their partnership, saying: "She is a queen – it’s coming from my heart.

"Sometimes when you’ve been in the business for a long time, you can have this sort of complex over the years – but she has been so humble, so grounded, she is so lovely.

"And I speak on behalf of anyone that works with Letitia Dean, she’s an absolutely joy to work with, so I’m very lucky in that sense. I hope she would say the same."

But things are far from smooth sailing for Sharon and Keanu.
