EastEnders fans emotional as they bid farewell to Dana ahead of university stint

EastEnders fans were left in floods of tears as they bid farewell to Dana Monroe before she set off to university in Scotland.

During Thursday’s visit to Albert Square (September 1), fans were treated to the brunette beauty’s surprise going away party hosted by her former alcoholic dad.

The young student couldn’t help but be suspicious after her loving father after he dragged her across town to a pub tucked away in a back alley as she nervously asked if he had fallen off the wagon again.

Luckily, Dana had nothing to worry about as the lights turned on and everyone shouted surprise as she jumped with glee.

It was at this point that the star fluttered around the room saying goodbye to her nearest and dearest including Harvey, Bobby Beale and Jean Slater.

As they listened to the emotional goodbyes, fans struggled to hold back the tears as they watched the fan-favourite character leave the show.

Many couldn’t bear to say goodbye to the young soap star, as they took to Twitter to share their heartbreak online.

One user penned: “Harvey’s goodbye speech to Dana NO I CAN’T DO THIS [heartbroken emoji] # EastEnders.”

Another agreed: “I’m really not prepared to say goodbye to Dana [crying emoji] #EastEnders.”

A third chimed in with: “It sucks that this is the end of Dana and Bobby [three crying emojis] #EastEnders.”
