But after Eve jumped to Suki’s defence against an unruly nish, Suki let her guard down and in a moment of privacy, she finally told her “I love you.”

Delighted fans took to social media to comment on the emotional scenes.

“Suki finally saying "I love you" to Eve is making me cry She finally said those 3 words. I could cry and smile with happiness. # EastEnders,” one viewer gushed.

A second agreed: “What can I say this was such a truly beautiful & magical moment… Suki telling Eve 'I love you'… I'm a total wreck, in a good & happy way!!! #Sukeve forever! They will win with love.”

A third chimed in, adding: “I think you’ve just killed us off i’m in shock and so extremely happy that Suki finally said it I literally adore you both,” as a fourth echoed: “Suki finally saying "I love you" to Eve is everything and a moment. So beautiful. #EastEnders.”

In the dramatic episode, Eve had given Suki the cold shoulder following Vinny's shocking revelation.

Despite Suki's insistence that Nish hadn't pressured her into sleeping with him, Eve had reached her breaking point, confessing her love for Suki.

The drama escalated when Nish and Eve paid a visit to the shifty Arjun to discuss the new terms for their illicit chicken shop money laundering scheme.

Things seemed to be spiraling out of control until Suki and Vinny swooped in, saving the day with their fierce negotiating skills.

Nish, seething with resentment, lashed out at both Suki and Vinny for undermining his authority. Although Eve jumped to Suki's defense, she was left heartbroken when Suki insisted she could fight her own battles.

In a shocking turn of events, a devastated Eve approached Jack, ready to turn informant and serve up Nish Panesar's head on a silver platter.

Elsewhere, Jean had baked a tantalizing gender reveal cake with Lily, while Stacey was in a frenzy over securing Shiv's money. Out of options, Stacey had been forced to approach Kat and Phil for assistance.

As the Slaters and Brannings excitedly gathered to discover whether Lily was expecting a boy or a girl, Stacey had slipped away to meet Shiv in the Arches, where Phil stepped in with a baseball bat and cleared him off for good.
