Emmerdale fans go wild after spotting Jai’s mum from rival soap in epic arrival

Emmerdale fans were forced to do a double take by the arrival of Jai’s mum Georgia after they immediately recognised her from her previous role on a rival soap.
During Wednesday’s visit to the ITV Dales, fans were introduced to the businessman’s distant mother as the countdown to his wedding continued.
Throughout the episode, his bride-to-be Laurel Thomas pleaded with him to reconsider making up with his doting dad Rishi just weeks after he discovered he is adopted.

But it’s fair to say one familiar face they weren’t expecting to see stroll through the village was Lin Blakey, portraying the role of his mum.
And it’s fair to say she made quite the entrance, immediately scolding her son for not inviting her to his big day despite lying to him about the identity of Jai’s real father.
As she stepped out of the car, Georgia was quick to confront her son as Jai shouted: “Get back in that taxi!”
Refusing his request, she shouted back: “I was expecting that response. I’m going nowhere until this whole debacle has been sorted. Why a I not invited? Rishi tells me he is.”
Jai snapped back: “So what you just show up and try to muscle your way in?” which she fired back with: “You’re my son.I shouldn’t have to muscle my way into anything.”
The business owner then told her he had only invited his father for the sake of his children and that she wasn’t welcome.
While he kept accusing her of secrets, Georgia fumed: “Get that out of your head. The only thing we ever wanted was for you to have a happy childhood. You’re our son. Nothing else really matters.”
The character of Georgia Sharma was originally played by Trudie Goodwin, but ITV bosses announced last month that Lin Blakely will be taking over the role.
Lin is arguable best known to fans for her role as Pam Cocker in rival BBC One soap EastEnders from 2014 to 2019.
As the dramatic scenes played out, viewers flooded to Twitter to share their surprise at her appearance online.

One user penned: “I can only see this Georgia as Pam from #EastEnders #Emmerdale ” as another agreed: “#Emmerdale Ey up, what’s Pam Cocker doing in Emmerdale?”
A third echoed: “It’s really weird seeing Pam in the dales [three shocked emojis] #Emmerdale.”
Meanwhile, a fourth cheekily asked: “ Why is Pam from EastEnders pretending to be Jai’s mum #emmerdale.”
