Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystał are tipped as the favourites to win this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing. The pair appeared on It Takes Two on the eve of the grand finale to reflect on their time in the BBC competition. As they looked forward to the final, wildlife cameraman Hamza broke down in tears over Polish dancer Jowita.

Hamza initially broke down as he watched a video montage with his loved ones praising him for making it so far in the contest.

Jowita rubbed Hamza’s back as he wiped tears from his eyes while the messages from his family and friends continued flooding in.

Host Janette Manara asked him to answer what it would mean for him to win the Glitterball Trophy.

Hamza emotionally said: “It would be the icing on the cake. I [told] Jowita when we first met that I would like to go to the final.

“She said two things, ‘Give me your trust and your energy’ – and we are at the final.

“So a trophy would just be the icing on the cake and that’s exactly what she deserves as she’s amazing.”

Jowita started crying as Hamza paid tribute to her and hosts Janette and Rylan Clark agreed with his heartfelt comments.

“You both deserve to be in that final, you’ve worked so hard and we cannot wait to see you perform tomorrow for the final time,” Rylan added.

They also discussed the three dances they will be performing, which include a Salsa to Ecuador by Sash! featuring Rodriguez, a Couple’s Choice to Jerusalema Remix by Master KG featuring Burna Boy, plus a show dance to Let’s Face the Music and Dance by Irving Berlin.

When asked how they will make sure their Afro-fusion Couple’s Choice gives “the same wow factor” as it did the first time, Hamza shared: “We will just go out and enjoy it.

“It’s a representation and a celebration dance and I’m dancing with Jowita.”

Jowita said: “The most important thing is for it to come from the heart, that is why we are dancing this dance.”
