During Wednesday’s This Morning, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield spoke with Matthew Wright and Anushka Asthana about the latest news headlines. The first topic of conversation was about Peppa Pig introducing same-sex characters. They also chatted about a recent survey which looked at whether males or females are funnier.

However, during the segment, Holly briefly spoke about her marriage to Dan Baldwin.

“Apparently men are funnier than women, researchers have claimed,” Holly began. “I don’t know what sex those researchers were, it doesn’t say.

“They looked at the results of various studies in which people were asked to rate men and women’s humour without knowing their sex first.

“Researchers found that 62 percent of men were funnier than the average woman.”

“I find men much funnier, much more modest,” Anushka joked. “Give me a break.

“Honestly, I mean who’s judging who’s funny?”

Defending the evidence, Matthew chipped in: “The evolutionary line is that men think they attract their partners by being funny, and as a consequence, they carry on being funny because they think that’s what’s gonna keep that partner with them.

“I don’t understand why being funny is the initial bit…”

“In many studies they looked at, men and women were asked to write a funny caption to accompany a cartoon and then independent judges rated their funniness without knowing their gender,” Phillip explained.

Lifting the lid on her marriage, Holly said: “Dan is definitely the funny one out of us two.”

“I think you’re very funny,” Anushka praised before Holly added: “Thank you, very much.”

Turning to her co-host, the mum-of-three said: “Dan is the funniest.”

Nodding in agreement, Phillip added: “Dan is the funniest out of all of us.”

The 41-year-old has been married to Dan for 15 years and they share three children together.

Holly and Dan recently marked their 15th wedding anniversary, and the This Morning host shared a cheeky snap on Instagram to celebrate the milestone.

Sharing a snap of the host wearing a pair of bikini bottoms with her married name emblazoned on the back, Holly penned: “Mrs Baldwin 4 ever… #15yearsmarried #love.”

Opening up about their special day, Holly said in a clip to Wylde Moon’s 158,000 Instagram followers: “It feels like a very long time ago, we have been married 15 years this year so it feels very special.

“Those memories are still as fresh as they were on the day.

“It is a special, special time from the dress, to walking down the aisle, to the smell of those flowers that you will never forget, to seeing all your loved ones in one place. Just a complete celebration in its purest form.”
