Hollyoaks’ Jazmine Franks supported by co-star as she shares pregnancy update

Former Hollyoaks star Jazmine Franks admitted that she’s “smug” after having a “really nice pregnancy” as she prepares to welcome her first child.

The soap star – who played Esther Bloom on the Channel 4 soap between 2011 and 2018 – is set to give birth to her little one with her partner Danny Potter.

Throughout her seven-year rein on the Cheshire soap, her character faced several emotional storylines including bullying, becoming a surrogate and even ordered the death of Eva Falco before she started a new life in Barcelona.

Now the mum-to-be has started the “biggest adventure yet” as she shared her latest pregnancy update exclusively with Daily Star at the Mummy’s Star Ball in Manchester which provides cancer support in and around pregnancy.

She confessed: “Do you know what? I don’t want to sound smug, but I am smug. I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant. I’m not going to lie to you, i’s been really good, I’ve had a really nice pregnancy

“I’ve been very lucky to have no complications, no issues at all so I've kind of found it plain sailing which has been quite nice.”

“But I'm not there yet,” she chuckled. “We’ve got to give birth but year I'm really happy, I'm really enjoying it.”

The actress went on to reveal that she has already found out the gender of the baby and even came up with their name ahead of their big arrival.

Jazmine went on: “I have found out the gender but we’re not telling anyone. We couldn’t wait so we’ve known for quite some time and the name’s already there, we’ve been set for quite some time.”

The blonde bombshell later explained how she has been seeking advice from her former co-star Jorgie Porter.

She continued: “Obviously, I'm a bit nervous because I don’t know what to expect and everyone’s babies are different.

“But I've been with Jorgie [Porter] a lot and she’s got Forrest and so I see how much of a natural she is with him, and I'm like, ‘Yeah okay, maybe it can be easy’.

However, Jazmine confessed that she was a little taken aback when she spoke to her midwife last week when she was told about the different health signs to look for in a newborn child.

The actor explained: “I did a zoom call today with a midwife where they’re talking about how to handle newborns and stuff and then they talk about if you’ve got a colicky baby, if the baby won’t sleep when it’s put down.

“And I'm like, ‘Oh, I hadn’t even thought about stuff like that – I just want an easy baby!”

Back in February, the mum-to-be announced her pregnancy on Instagram as her fellow Hollyoaks stars showered her in congratulatory messages before she jetted off to Tenerife on a babymoon with her partner.
