Kate Garraway teams up with Strictly star for latest ITV project | The Sun

PRESENTER Kate Garraway is soon to be back on fans' screens in the popular ITV series Life Stories.

Broadcaster and journalist Kate stepped in to replace Piers Morgan as the new host of Life Stories last year.

She hosted three 60-minute episodes last year where she sat down with singer Charlotte Church, The Great British Bake Off star Nadiya Hussain and ex-footballer John Barnes.

On the show's next outing, where celebrities open up, Kate will be joined by Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer turned judge Anton Du Beke, performer Ruby Wax and comedian Omid Djalili.

Kate partnered with Anton when she competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2007.

The duo came eighth, with Alesha Dixon and professional dancer Matthew Cutler winning and taking home the Glitterball Trophy.

A broadcast date is yet to be released but the show will air on ITV.

In last year's season, Kate said: "I've always loved having the chance to talk to people, both on-air and off.

"Everyone has a story to tell, and the wonderful thing about this show is that you have the airtime to delve into the areas of guests lives that the viewers might not know about already.

"It's also a chance to understand more about the bits we do already know about (both good and bad) and hear it in their own words."

Anton became a permanent judging fixture on Strictly last year, having appeared on the show since it first broadcast in 2004 as a dancer.

He replaced dynamite Bruno Tonioli, and with all his years in the dance world, he will surely have some stories to tell Kate.

Anton will join Strictly judge veterans Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse again on the show this year.

Kate has been a staple of British TV for decades and captured the nation's heart with her candid, open coverage of her husband Derek's covid battle.

Earlier this month, on Loose Women, she revealed that her husband is now at home, but he can only talk in a whisper due to his ongoing health issues.

She said: "It is very much a whisper and I don't think we are necessarily going to have a conversation but you get fantastic moments where he will suddenly…

"This is so silly, but Billy had a new basketball, and he was bouncing it, and suddenly Derek asked, 'Is that a new ball?'.

"We all just went 'Ah'… and Billy went 'Yes, yes, it is, it is' and he [Derek] said 'It's nice'. Seeing him able is unbelievable; it is something you take for granted.

"But to have him be able to interact in that way, and then Billy was in tears, and they were hugging. It's things like that, that really lift you up and then the next day he was completely still."
