Love Island fans cringe as Ella left red-faced with awkward Tyrique confession

Love Island fans were left cringing after Ella Thomas was coupled up with Tyrique Hyde, as she confessed they'd already met – but he had no idea.
The public voted for them to be one of the first couples of the series, and not long after they were put together she let slip to Tyrique.
"Do you remember we've met before?" she asked him, explaining that it had been in London "not even that long ago".

In a toe-curling moment though, Tyrique seemed completely clueless and told her: "We'll talk in a bit."
Viewers couldn't believe the moment, with one saying: "That 'we've met before' '???' conversation between Ella and Tyrique is so awkward, bless."
Another said: "Me ready for the drama after Ella says, 'Remember we met before?'"
A third wrote: "But seriously though need the lowdown on Tyrique and Ella?"
She soon explained to the girls: "Physically he's good looking and he's my type, but I've met him before. There's no way he doesn't remember."
Before long, Ella and Tyrique sat down for a chat and she told him: "I feel like you're pretending you don't remember, that just tells me how many girls you meet."
Although she did tell him she had blonde her back then, with him saying: "You look nicer now."
Elsewhere in the first episode, the other starting couples were also confirmed.
André Furtado was put with Catherine Agbaje, George Fensom was matched with Jess Harding, Mehdi Edno was coupled up with Ruchee Gurung and Mitchel Taylor ended up with Molly Marsh.
Tyrique and Molly bonded over having matching tattoos – a lightning bolt behind their left ear.
But while Molly joked she'd found hers on "Pinterest", Tyrique had a much deeper meaning for getting it done.
He said: "It's behind my left ear because in my right one I can't hear. I was born deaf. I have no hearing in my right ear so don't speak to me, speak to the bolt."
