Love Island viewers were left floored on Sunday night after a shock recoupling saw shade sent around the fire pit.

In true villa style, Islanders were called to the fire pit for an unexpected recoupling which saw the girls choose which boy they wanted to couple up with.

While Jess Harding chose long-time villa partner Sammy Root, new bombshell Ella Barnes chose to couple up with Mitchel Taylor causing a stir around the fire pit.

Abi Moore was left unimpressed after Ella stole her man and went on to share with islanders exactly how she was feeling.

Before choosing to couple up with Scott Van der Sluis, Abi went on to say that she hadn't had the "loyalty and respect".

In a mic drop moment, she said: "I'd like to couple up with this boy as I think it's safe to say that neither of us have had a smooth journey in here.

"Especially when other people are getting involved in situations, causing triangles.

"Since getting to know this boy, he displayed a lot of characteristics that I find attractive, like loyalty and respect.

"Which I don't feel I've had over the past few days.

"And I feel like this is a good opportunity for us to get to know each other better and explore if there could be a connection".

Whitney Adebayo went on to label the recoupling "scandalous".

Fans flooded to the comments on TikTok showing a clip of the surprising speech where one wrote: "Who was that speech for exactly!?!"

While another said: "I love Mitch's facial expressions keeps him in there."

"Mitch cracks me up with his facial expressions", agreed a fan.

A fourth commented: "Abi moving mad".

It comes just days after another dramatic fire pit recoupling saw tensions run high as new bombshell Ella stole Mitchel from Abi Moores who he was previously coupled up with.

While second bombshell Josh Brocklebank chose to couple up with fan favourite Jess who decided during Sunday night's episode to focus on Sammy.

This week's Love Island has certainly bought its drama as a double dumping saw Catherine Agbaje and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson leave the villa after they were voted as the least compatible couple by the public.

They were shortly followed by Leah Taylor and Montel Mackenzie who were dumped on Wednesday night after Islanders were summoned around the fire pit.

The villa was left completely gobsmacked over the exit as Leah and Montel had arguably been one of the most consistent couples despite their Casa Amor drama.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
