Love Island stars forced to tell ITV bosses how many sexual partners they’ve had

Love Island's Billy Brown has lifted the lid on what happens during the audition process.

The Casa Amor 2021 star chatted exclusively to the Daily Star about his ITV audition experience.

Billy, 23, told us: "They ask different things, and they are very good at what they're doing but for me, it was so hard to open up straight away when I met the execs I had to be my crazy funny self straight away.

"It's so funny they're like 'c'mon then, how many people have you slept with?' Straight away in there, so I went 'how many people have you slept with? and they were like 'good answer'.

"I had to tell them an honest answer as you have to tell them the truth.

"They make you comfortable but at the start, it's intimidating then they say weird stuff and you know they're crazy as well."

Producers also get to the Islanders in further detail when they are in their holding villas – where they are asked to fill in an 80-page booklet detailing their darkest secrets.

Billy continued: "You have to fill out a booklet of like 80 pages and they ask you on paper have you ever had a threesome? Have you ever done all these sexual things… And then they go into really deep into relationship questions.

"But let's hope my future wife doesn't find that booklet, no way she sees that I'm done."

"Also for the challenges you have to tell the facts about you so they can use them in challenges.

"So, I let them have it all – I think that's why they thought' oh, he doesn't care'.

Talking about how long the vetting process takes, Billy explained: "It was a weird one, so many people have since come up to me saying ITV messaged them but they must message so many people.

"You have to go through a six-eight month process, you have to do an interview, a zoom call, another interview, medical tests, another interview, another interview with a psych, then they say come to London to ITV studios and meet the execs.

"And you're sort of in there if you get to to the exec stage, you're near…

"Then you have another interview, then they ring you again and it's a yeah if you get a phone call and a no if you don't.

"It's so stressful and they're like you've got an interview tomorrow at 12 and I've got work but it's like quick, quick, quick…"

Love Island returns on January 16 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
