Love Island’s Lana trusts ‘her gut’ as she makes recoupling decision over Ron and Casey

After tonight's dumping saw Spencer Wilks and Aaron Waters leave the Love Island villa, the remaining islanders spent the next day enjoying their time in the South African sun – before being hit by a surprise text that is.

The text read: "Islanders, tonight there will be a recoupling. The girls will each choose which boy they want to couple up with #TakeYourPick #DecisionTime."

Lana Jenkins, who has spent the last few days torn between Ron Hall and new arrival Casey O'Gorman, admitted: "I feel pressure, I don’t know who I’m going to couple with…"

And as crunch time arrived, Lana was one of the last to pick which boy to couple up with, as she said she had been fighting "between her head and her heart" and she eventually decided to couple up with Casey.

Earlier in the episode Lana told Ron that she was happy that he was safe during the dumping as the two reflected on their time together in the villa.

Lana said: "I was glad when they called your name." To which Ron laughed: "Were you? I’d hope so."

Lana replied: "Imagine if I was like, I couldn’t wait for you to go."

Later she spoke to Casey about their growing connection, with him telling her: "I won’t need to f*** up with you to realise what I’ve got with you if that makes you feel any more reassured."

To which Lana joked: "The shade"

In the beach hut Lana then added: "I have chats with Ron and I sway more that way, then I have chats with Casey and I sway that way…"

Previously Lana had discussed her feelings for Ron with Samie Elishi and Tanya Manhenga, telling them: "I’m at completely different stages with Casey and Ron, it’s hard to throw that away but then am I being…?”

Samie said of Ron: “Lana, he’s a flirt man, he’s a proper flirt.” As Tanya added: “Lana, no.”

Lana asked: “Why, what are you telling me?” To which Samie responded: “He’s trying to keep everyone happy.”

And earlier this week fan-favourite Islander Shaq Muhammad went off on Ron as he called his treatment of Lana "toxic".

Love Island continues on weekdays at 9pm on ITV2.
