MAFS UK fans feel ‘betrayed’ after George announces April cheated on him

Married at First Sight UK viewers feel “betrayed” after contestant April Banbury “cheated” on her husband.

The former Miss Great Britain, 32, was “intimate” with another woman off camera while holidaying in Jamaica with financial advisor George, 40.

In explosive scenes that aired on Wednesday’s (August 30) episode of the E4 series, George confronts April over the passionate kiss she shared with the woman behind his back, as the realisation hits him.

Dad-of-four George said: “I woke up this morning numb and cold she’s been intimate with someone else. It was heartbreaking and a big kick in the teeth. I’ve been cheated on. I went from feeling so elated to feeling rock bottom.”

April soon turned up at George’s door with a bottle of champagne as a “peace offering” to try and explain the incident.

She said: “We were mucking around and playing dares and stuff. I’m really sorry if it did upset you. It really was nothing.”

George replied to his wife: “It hurt a bit because I have feelings for you, and I know it wasn’t intentional for you to make me feel that way. I’m sorry for walking off.”

Fans of the show flocked to social media to share their reactions to the nail-biting scenes.

One fan tweeted: “I feel so betrayed after seeing April cheat on George. Why did she do that?”

A second person penned: “It’s too soon for George and April to be having these issues. It’s like she’s self-sabotaging.”

Some else said: “Why would you kiss someone else on your honeymoon, as a dare or otherwise? I totally understand needing some space but why go find a group of randoms in the resort and act like you’re on an 18-35s holiday?”

A fourth person added: “Isn’t cheating cheating? Does it matter what gender it is? It’s still wrong to kiss anyone. It didn’t mean anything to her, but it meant something to George and she doesn’t acknowledge his feelings.”

Despite the pair seeming to reconcile, a hint dropped from George that their romance could soon be over.

He told the camera: “I don’t know how I’m feeling at the moment, being brutally honest.”
