Matt Goss’ fan base unveiled as Strictly weapon which will help him on BBC show

Matt Goss has a secret weapon to win Strictly – Brosettes.

He and his brother Luke still command an army of thousands of fans who have followed their every move since they launched their pop career in the 1980s as Bros.

And the “Brosettes” – as they call themselves – have already rallied to ensure singer Matt goes all the way on the BBC dance show even before he steps into the ballroom next month.

They have been swapping messages on fan forums and social media declaring that they will be voting for him every week to make sure he stays the distance.

And they have flooded the BBC for requests for tickets to be in the audience to cheer him om.

Comments from the fans include “My votes on Strictly are gonna go to the very lovely Matt”, “I was a #Brosette growing up! I’m voting”, “Already applied for #Strictly tickets this morning”, “Hope to see some fancy footwork from Matt. Vote Matt now #Brosette #youaremyfave”.

Matt and Luke – who scored hits with I Owe You Nothing, Drop The Boy and When Will I Be Famous – admit they owe a lot to their legion of fans who still follow them after Bros split and they embarked on solo careers.

Chart topper Matt said: “The Brosettes have been around for more than 30 years. They are superfans.

“After all this time you get to know their names and who they are.

“And they have been a huge part of our story so you care about them.

“Sometimes when we arrive at an airport, they are there and out of 100 people you recognise 70 of them. It’s a nice feeling.”
