Sir Michael Parkinson sparked concern among BBC Breakfast viewers on Thursday when he appeared in the studio to chat with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt. As he reminisced about his successful career, Naga went on to ask how he felt when watching himself back on the television. However, the presenter went on to admit he doesn’t “recognise himself” anymore.

“Do you get sick of seeing the TV clips?” Naga asked before Sire Michael replied: “Do I get sick of it? Absolutely.”

“I don’t recognise the person,” he went on to add.

Michael’s appearance also sparked concern among viewers, with Ken tweeting: “@BBCBreakfast look after Parky a true TV legend – he looks frail.”

Sharon wrote: “Just switched #BBCBreakfast didn’t even realise that was #parky aww bless him he looks so frail now.”

Others were thrilled to see the icon on BBC Breakfast, as Lee beamed: “Parky on #BBCBreakfast now there’s a broadcaster/journalist!! Absolute legend!” (sic)

Martin Talbot said: “Michael Parkinson on @BBCBreakfast- utterly fascinating. A colossal talent and still so sharp, even at the age of 87.”
