New Love Island host Maya Jama is funny, sexy and smart – but give me a year and I'll be ready for the job, says Ekin-Su | The Sun
WHEN Laura Whitmore quit as the host of Love Island, fans called on 2022 winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu to replace her.
Speaking for the first time since The Sun revealed Maya Jama will take on the top job instead, Ekin-Su has praised ITV2's decision.
But she refused to rule out going for the presenting role in future.
Ekin-Su told The Sun in an exclusive interview at her Oh Polly launch: "I love her [Maya]. She's beautiful, funny, intelligent, sexy. She's everything that you'd look for in a Love Island presenter.
"I think ITV2 have done a wise pick choosing her. The first show she presents is going to be great."
Responding to demand from fans for her to host Love Island instead, Ekin added: "I couldn't believe how many people wanted me to do it.

"If it was a year down the line I would have done it, but because I'm so fresh I would like more training in presenting.
"I want to do it the real way. I'd like to be so good and when I'm ready mentally I would like to do presenting for Love Island.
"Right now there are other things in the pipeline that are taking up my time."
Since Ekin-Su won the ITV2 show with her boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti in August, their relationship has gone from strength to strength.

The gorgeous couple have bagged their own ITV spin-off show Ekin-Su & Davide: Homecomings, which will see them embark on two trips of a lifetime to Davide’s beloved Italy and Ekin-Su’s hometown in Turkey.
The 28-year-old has plans to return to her acting job very soon – with hopes she'll become a massive film star.
She's also on track to be a millionaire after becoming one of Love Island's most popular stars ever.
A massive social media following has seen global superbrands queuing up to work with Ekin-Su.
The Turkish actress was adamant she wanted to work with a brand that aligned to her own values of sustainability and decided against signing to a fast fashion brand.

Sticking to her beliefs paid off for Ekin-Su, who signed a whopping £1million deal with fashion giant Oh Polly weeks after leaving the villa – and has since launched her debut collection.
She plans to pave her own way in the fashion industry – and wants all women to feel free to dress how they want.
"I will always be me and be my own role model and be my own fashion icon," says Ekin-Su.
