Olly Murs is back on The Voice alongside his fellow judges Sir Tom Jones, Anne Marie and Will.i.am. Each week, a fresh set of talent takes to the stage in the hope one of the judges turns their chair. And if more than one of the panellists turns around, then it is up to the performer to decide whose team they want to be on.

When the judges aren’t filming for The Voice, they are either off on tour or working on their solo projects.

However, Olly admitted exclusively to Express.co.uk and other press that he has been working on himself.

“I’ve not been drinking for a year,” he explained before adding: “365 days.”

When asked the reason behind his decision, the Troublemaker star said: “It’s just little victories.

“I’m not someone who’s ever struggled with drink, it was just something that I felt like I wanted to do for a year and just challenged myself.

“I just think sometimes drinking can lead to bad s**t happening.”

“I don’t miss it,” he added before explaining he wished he could have toasted his recent engagement to Amelia Tank.

“I was devastated I couldn’t have a little tipple, but [Amelia} drank the whole bottle.”

Despite his sobriety, Olly went on to admit that next year when he gets married, he will have a drink.

The pop star, who recently got engaged, went on to speak about his wedding plans.

“I don’t actually want a massive wedding,” Olly admitted. “I want it quite intimate and quiet. Just family really and close friends.

“I would always say no, I wouldn’t. But, everywhere I’ve been to and there’s a mic, I’m singing Sweet Caroline, and I’m all over the place.”

Last weekend, Olly left The Voice viewers in tears after he gave his own rendition of Sweet Caroline.

The X Factor star dedicated the song to the returning studio audience and his dear friend Caroline Flack.

“You know what? I am going to pick a classic song,” he told his co-stars. “It’s not one of my ones, but they’re classics, right?

“I am going to sing a song, I want to dedicate it to having you lot back.

“Also, I want to dedicate it to my friend, Caroline Flack. It is called Sweet Caroline.”

Olly’s tribute left viewers in tears, and many took to social media to praise the judge.

Hayley tweeted: “@ollymurs singing sweet Caroline for @carolineflack1….. stunning.”

Phil said: “@ollymurs Sweet, sweet Caroline was everything you meant it to be Olly.”

While Naim added: “@ollymurs the ‘Sweet Caroline’ on #SuicidePreventionDay had me in tears.” (sic)

The Voice returns tonight at 8.30pm on ITV.
