Spoilers: James exit story revealed in Coronation Street as actor leaves soap
In quite a surprising twist, James Bailey (Nathan Graham) is set to leave Coronation Street.
The decision to depart Weatherfield comes after his near-death experience, which saw James collapse and suffer a heart attack during a football match with the Rovers team.
After he was rushed to hospital, James was fitted with ICD [Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator] to prevent further cardiac arrests. He was also told there’s a chance he won’t be able to play football at a competitive level ever again.
The ordeal has since made James think a lot about his future and next week, Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) tells his nephew that there’s a youth centre near Lewisham looking for a football coach.
James realises the centre is close to where Danny (Dylan Brady) – who used to work in the Bistro as a chef – lives.
After giving them a call, James tells Ronnie that he’s got the job and starts tomorrow!
In the bistro, with his family around him, James announces that he’s got a new job – but it means moving to London.
After packing up his things, James exits Weatherfield with an emotional Ed (Trevor Michael Georges), Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw), Michael (Ryan Russell) and newcomer Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) watching him as he leaves.
Come back soon, James!
