Troublesome character returns in Corrie and puts a marriage on rocks

Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) starts her new job in upcoming Coronation Street episodes but her boss is Henry Newton – her ex.

Henry first made his way to Weatherfield in 2017, dating Gemma as part of a bet with his friend.

He then returned the following year. He reunited with Gemma and developed a plan to buy the pub, but Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) and Johnny (Richard Hawley) ended up securing the business instead.

Experiencing financial problems, Henry then attempted to get revenge by threatening to sue Johnny and Jenny.

Last seen getting kidnapped by some gangsters, Henry’s return coincides with Gemma trying to get back on her feet after an ordeal involving Daniel’s (Rob Mallard) son Bertie.

The young lad accidentally consumed Gemma’s mental health medication a few weeks ago and was rushed to hospital. Fortunately, he was fine, but a stressed an exhausted Gemma faced a meeting with a social worker, who was furious to learn that she had been looking after children for money and hadn’t told the authorities about it.

In the middle of the cost of living crisis, Gemma has decided to start a new job working for Henry Newton, but lies to Chesney (Sam Aston) and says that she’ll be in a different department.

Later, Chesney spots Gemma getting into Henry’s car, but how will he react?

Gemma and Chesney tied the knot a few months ago in a spectacular wedding that saw Gemma wear a giant, bright orange dress.

The wedding was a success, but is it the aftermath where things will fall apart?
