Liverpool star Mohamed Salah’s villa has reportedly been ransacked by burglars who stripped it of electrical goods and valuables. 

The break-in at the £350,000-a-week winger’s home in Cairo, Egypt, was reported by Egyptian daily newspaper.

It was claimed that the burglary was not noticed until 30-year-old Salah’s nephew passed the villa and spotted an open window, according to The Sun. 

The family member contacted the police and went inside to discover items strewn around the floor of the burgled property. 

It has not been confirmed what belongings were stolen, but Egyptian media said ‘electrical’ items and ‘devices’ were taken.

Father-of-two Salah is an icon in is home nation – dubbed ‘The Egyptian King’ and ‘The Pharaoh’. He is considered one of Egypt’s most famous sportsmen. 

Police are looking through CCTV footage and interviewing security staff in search of the robbers. 

A source told Al-Ahram: ‘The surrounding surveillance cameras are being unloaded, and the security personnel in charge of securing the place are being interrogated.’

Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution office in Cairo confirmed they have opened a case as they investigate the burglary.

Sportsman Salah has invested in a hospital in his home nation, and even helped rebuild a church that set fire in 2022.
