Marilyn Manson accuser blasts Evan Rachel Wood as 'full of s***'
‘This is what happens when horrible girls get bored’: Marilyn Manson accuser who backtracked on sexual assault claims blasts Evan Rachel Wood as ‘full of s***’ – after star denied she ‘manipulated’ her to lie
- Ashley Morgan Smithline, 38, said actress Evan Rachel Wood, 35, was ‘full of s**t’ and was ‘destroying people with no conscience just because she can’
- She also claimed Wood hacked into her phone and Instagram ‘cloning conversations that never took place’
- Smithline said Wood manipulated her ‘to make accusations of rape and assault against [Manson] that were not true,’ which she has since rescinded
A woman, who has backtracked on her sexual assault claims against Marilyn Manson, has blasted Evan Rachel Wood as ‘full of s**t’ after the star denied she manipulated her to lie.
Ashley Morgan Smithline, 38, who had a brief relationship with Manson back in 2010, has accused Wood, 35, of manipulating her to make accusations against the singer.
‘Evan’s is full of s**t. She calls people narcissistic and sociopath,’ Smithline wrote on Instagram. ‘Watch her film, “Pretty Persuasion.” Literally a roadmap of this whole thing. Or the crucible.
‘This is what happens when horrible girls get bored,’ she continued. ‘She’s destroying people with no conscience just because she can.’
She accused Marilyn of assault in June 2021, but retract that earlier this month. Wood accused Manson of abused in February 2021.

In Pretty Persuasion, which was released in 2005, Wood plays a character who makes up sexual accusations against a teacher to become famous.
She accused Wood’s team of ‘hacking my phone and Instagram cloning conversations that never took place.’
Smithline also said Wood is ‘scared’ and has been caught ‘gaslighting and creating conspiracy.’
‘That could land not just in trouble, but conspiracy could land her in jail,’ she wrote online. ‘So she’s saying anything she can to discredit me.’
Smithline filed formal court documents earlier this month to rescind all of her claims about the controversial musician.
She claimed that Wood pressured her ‘to make accusations of rape and assault against [Manson] that were not true.’ The court documents also claimed that Smithline felt ‘pressured’ by her legal team to speak out publicly about her alleged experience.
But Wood has now filed her own court documents refuting the claims, and presenting evidence that Smithline was pressured by Manson’s attorneys to drop her suit and claim she made the whole thing up.
As part of those court documents, Evans included more than three years of reported correspondence — including a voicemail Smithline allegedly sent a friend in which she expressed fear that Manson’s legal team was coming after her and she felt she was being treated as ‘the weakest link.’

In Monday’s filing, obtained by Rolling Stone, Evans provided screengrabs of Instagram comments dating back to 2019, along with reported text messages, direct messages and voicemails from the last three years in which Smithline appears to discuss her encounter with Manson — whose real name is Brian Warner.
She referred to a March 2019 comment in which Smithline ‘referenced information about my private experiences with Warner’ when he allegedly abused Wood while ‘making her watch a particular scene from Rules of Attraction.’
‘When he had me captive in the stupid ballet studio, I cringed hearing him brag about replaying that scene from Rules of Attraction to you,’ Smithline apparently commented on Wood’s 2019 post about being a victim of domestic abuse.
‘I thought no one would ever talk about this.’
Then after People published an interview with Smithline in May 2021 detailing the abuse she allegedly faced, Smithline reportedly sent Wood a direct message saying she was being harassed by Manson’s fans.
‘[I]t takes a special kind of person to threaten rape and abuse victims with rape and abuse,’ Smithline wrote in the message, adding: ‘It’s been relentless.’
She said she ‘can’t breathe’ and has ‘no reason to make this up,’ to which Wood replied: ‘Don’t let anyone get to you. Just sit in your truth.’
‘The real pressure Smithline faced was not to make allegations against Plaintiff — it was to retract them,’ the new court filing says. ‘Smithline’s declaration is therefore wholly unreliable.’
Evans also attached two June 2022 voicemails Smithline left a friend in which she claims that Warner’s attorney, Howard King, had called to speak to her ‘one-on-one’ and that she believed he wanted her to retract her allegations.

Woods publicly named Manson as her alleged abuser in February 2021
‘Don’t repeat this to anyone, I swear to God, don’t say this to anyone… but I did get a private message on my cellular telephone from Marilyn Manson’s lawyers, stating, “I was wondering if we could just talk,”‘ Smithline reportedly told her friend.
‘The only reason he’d be calling me… is that he thinks I’m the weak link and he might want to settle with me to turn on the other girls and say that it was all a ruse.’
Attached was a screenshot that reportedly captured King asking Smithline if she would like to speak with Manson, saying: ‘He would like to talk. Closure is important to Brian, and he thinks you can help each other.’ It remains unclear when the message was sent.
Evans’ filing concluded by questioning why Smithline wasn’t deposed in the case by Warner’s legal team, stating: ‘The reason why is obvious.
‘Plaintiff understood that if Defendants had the opportunity to question Smithline, the actual truth would come out: Defendants never pressured or manipulated Smithline.’
Smithline, though, denied Evans’ claims, telling Rolling Stone: ‘Evan’s full of s***. That’s my comment.
‘She’s saying anything she can to discredit me.’
In a statement to DailyMail.com, King said: ‘It is unsurprising that Evan Rachel Wood is desperately fighting to keep Ashley Smithline’s testimony out of court – because she knows the truth will expose her plot to manipulate the women who trusted her in order to destroy Brian Warner.
‘Brian Warner never abused anyone. Ashley Smithline has told the truth. It’s sadly predictable that Evan Rachel Wood – someone who has already filed a forged FBI letter under oath in other court proceedings – remains committed to not doing the same.’
Earlier this month, Smithline publicly claimed that she was first contacted by Illma Gore, Woods’ current partner, or by Ashley Walters, Woods’ former assistant, in 2020 to discuss her alleged abuse at Manson’s hands.
She said she replied that ‘this did not happen to me, and this was not my experience,’ to which Woods told her that ‘just because she could not remember’ the abuse ‘did not necessarily mean that it did not happen.’
She also alleged that Wood told her that it was possible she had ‘repressed’ memories due to her alleged trauma.
Woods publicly named Manson as her alleged abuser in February 2021, and according to Smithline she allegedly advised her, along with other accusers, to do the same.
But, Smithline said she realized shortly after sharing her testimony for Phoenix Rising that she was not acting in an ‘honorable’ way.
Manson’s attorney Howard King said that Smithline called him last week on her own and apologized to Manson. She also told him that she never had any financial motivation for allegedly ‘lying’ about Manson.
‘She was a reluctant participant [in Wood’s alleged scheme] from the get-go,’ the lawyer told Page Six.
‘For a moment in time, having been questioned so many times by Evan Rachel Wood about this ‘repressed memory’ and being told, ‘You’re not remembering what happened,’ she believed it for a minute.’
Esme Bianco, a former girlfriend of Manson, had also accused him of alleged sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
But Manson’s attorney pointed out that Smithline’s lawyer, Jay Ellwanger, was the same attorney representing Bianco in her sexual assault case.
Smithline claims that she felt ganged up on and manipulated by Woods, Bianco and her own attorney, and that was what prompted her to repeat the false rape claims because, he said, she felt ’emotionally manipulated.’
Manson’s ex also said that she ‘never received any money from Mr. Warner and not seeking any money from him.’
‘I have no intention of refiling any lawsuit against Mr. Warner,’ she said.

Smithline also said Wood is ‘scared’ and has been caught ‘gaslighting and creating conspiracy.’ ‘That could land not just in trouble, but conspiracy could land her in jail,’ she wrote online. ‘So she’s saying anything she can to discredit me.’
‘Looking back, I feel I was manipulated by Ms. Wood, Ms. Gore, Ms. Bianco and Mr. Ellwanger to spread publicly false accusations of abuse against Mr. Warner.’
He alleged that Ellwanger had written a complain without talking to Smithline about what the factual allegations were, and then filed it.
King said, ‘They wore her down.’
Manson has been accused by more than a dozen women alleging sexual misconduct against him, but not all pursued legal action – and he has so far dodged criminal charges.
Bianco was one of the women who sued Manson and his record label Marilyn Manson Records, Inc. She also sued the singer for human trafficking, among other charges, Rolling Stone reported.
The pair settled the sexual-assault lawsuit out of court earlier this year for an undisclosed amount.
King said Bianco was the only Manson accuser who got paid.
He said the suit was settled with the insurance company and said it was a ‘fraction’ of what she was asking for.
Manson is now suing Wood for conspiracy and Gore for defamation, as the musician alleges that the pair had conspired against him for their own financial gain.
The Los Angeles District Attorney, meanwhile, has yet to announce whether it will pursue sexual abuse charges against Manson.
