Nicola Bulley's image used on dating site by sick criminals

Nicola Bulley’s family hit by fresh agony as vile crooks use her image for dating catfish con

  •  The photos appeared on British dating site Smooch.com

Relatives of Nicola Bulley were last night tormented once again after ‘sick’ crooks used her image on a dating site.

The photos, which were taken by the criminals from a police appeal after the mother-of-two disappeared in January of this year, were used for profiles on dating site Smooch.com.

Frauds use the fake profiles to seduce lonely men and woman in an act known as catfish cons.

The victims of the con then receive demands for money and false promises of romance.

One of the profile’s shows a photo of Ms Bulley, however with the name Faustina attached to the profile. Another claims to be a 41-year-old woman Elorm.

A source told the Mirror that the family had been aware of the incident and that they’d ‘already been through the most horrendous ordeal’.

A source close to the family revealed that lawyers would be informed on the issue and would monitor the situation.

Smooch.com charges users £23 a month and promises them romance, however it has a rating of just one star on consumer website TrustPilot.

The 45-year-old Ms Bulley disappeared after dropping her daughters, six and nine, at school on January 27 before taking her usual dog walk along the River Wyre in Lancashire.

Her phone, which was still on a work call, was found on a bench overlooking a ‘cliff-edge drop’ into the river.

After a search which lasted over three weeks, her body was eventually found more in the water.

Last month, after months of speculation surrounding the circumstances behind her death, a coroner ruled that she had drowned after accidentally falling down a steep river bank into the icy water.

Her partner of 12 year, Paul Ansell, told the inquest he believes she went to put a harness on her dog shortly before falling into the river.

Ms Bulley was last seen by a fellow dog walker in a field with the family dog, Willow, at 9.10am.
