Sickening moment man ties yelping dog to car and blasts it with jet wash

This is the distressing moment a man ties up a dog before blasting it using a jet washer at a petrol station.

The shocking incident was witnessed by nearby drivers at a drive-thru car wash in Amber near Bishopstown in Cork, Ireland on Friday (April 7).

In the video shared on an animal rescue Facebook group, the poor canine was tied to the back of a white car that was parked in one of the car wash bays.

A man in black trackpants and black puffer vest can be seen holding onto a jet-wash wand while the dog was whining.

He turned on the machine and started blasting the water at the pooch.

Struggled to break free, the dog tried to hide under the car but the leash was too short and it ran to the other side of the car and yelped for help.

On the post, animal lovers feared the chemicals used in car wash could burn the dog's skin.

It read: "Such a horrific, traumatic thing to inflict on this poor dog.

"When the person taking the video confronted the man with the poor dog, he shouted at him and went to the back of his car and proceeded to take out a baseball bat!"

The alleged animal abuse was reported to Gardaí in Togher.

A spokesperson for the Gardaí told CorkBeo: "An Garda Síochána is aware of reports of an incident involving a dog which occurred in the Bishopstown area of Cork last Friday.

"An Garda Síochána is making enquiries in relation to this incident and is asking anyone who witnessed this incident to please contact local Gardaí."

Viewers were infuriated and concerned over the dog's safety.

One said: "Unbelievable! This cruelty has to stop. The guards need to get involved!"

"This is absolutely disgusting I would hope this person will be prosecuted but I fear he won’t," a second wrote.

And a third shared: "I foolishly jet washed my foot to see what it felt like could have broken bones with the force.

"This is pure cruelty to do this to a dog. I hope the dog has been taken from the owner.

"So irrespective of chemicals in the wash, it's the strength of the jet that would cause injury."
