Guess the celebrity these people have spent THOUSANDS to look like

We spent THOUSANDS to look like our idol… but can you guess who that is?

  • Celebrity fans so obsessed with their idols they’ve spent thousands on surgery
  • People have gone under the knife to look like Justin Bieber or Jessica Rabbit

We all have idols.

And while many take inspiration from famous people – from the way they dress or do their hair – there are some superfans who take their celebrity obsession to the extreme.

So, as MailOnline takes a look at some of the most expensive ‘Hollywood’ surgeries, can you guess who these people spent thousands looking like?

Toby Sheldon

Toby Sheldon spent over $100,000 on over 100 procedures in a bid to look like a Canadian teen idol

It may not take long to guess which superstar this German songwriter spent thousands trying to resemble.

Toby Sheldon became an internet sensation and TV reality star after having paid considerable amounts for plastic surgery.

Mr Sheldon appeared on the 2014 show Botched and My Strange Addiction about his obsession with looking like a Canadian singer.

Spending well over $100,000, which is around £78,000, Mr Sheldon has done basically everything possible to look like a teen idol.

From hair transplants to a six-pack insertion and liposuction, he’s gone under the knife a fair few times.

He started getting surgery in 2008 and has had a hair transplant, fillers in his brows, skin removal around his eyes and work on his lips, as well as several other procedures.

Speaking out about his many surgeries, he said: ‘I had my lips done, my upper lip lifted…in this kind of permanent smirk’.

Tragically, Tobias Strebel, who went by the name Toby Sheldon, was found dead in a motel room in the San Fernando Valley in August 2016.

An autopsy report obtained by TMZ from the L.A. County Coroner allegedly listed the cause of death as ‘multiple drug intoxication’ and stated that there was no apparently trauma or foul play.

His lookalike is Justin Bieber, as he told TLC in 2014: ‘Some people buy fancy cars or fancy mansions. What I do with my money is I get surgery to look more like Justin Bieber.’

Toby Sheldon first went viral in 2013 after spending thousands of pounds to look like the then-teenager, Justin Bieber

The mega-fan shared pictures of his plastic surgery journey to his social media accounts before his death in August 2016

Annette Edwards

British great-grandmother Annette Edwards spent more than £12,000 to look like her famous cartoon idol.

The former model had cheek and chin implants and a breast uplift and went on a three-month ‘rabbit diet’ of cereals and salads to lose 42lbs.

She splashed out £10,000 on plastic surgery to transform herself into a real-life version of the red-head bombshell.

The great-grandmother of 14 from Worcester – who has ten children of her own – has made quite the name for herself.

Ms Edwards became Miss Birmingham at the age of 29 as a young mother looking after six children.

She shot to fame in 2004 when her pet Roberto was crowned the biggest rabbit on the planet by Guinness World Records. Each rabbit she bred seemed to get bigger, until eventually Darius took the title of world’s longest rabbit in 2010.

In 2012 she broke another world record, and became the world’s oldest Page 3 model.

After 40 years of modelling, from pin-up shoots to Nivea adverts, she announced her retirement from the trade.

More recently, in 2023, she appeared on This Morning to flaunt her furry friends.

She then became even more famous for her cosmetic surgery – after a range of expensive procedures, including a £3,600 breast lift and £2,750 brow lift on her eyes.

As well as this, she also had £2,800 worth of chin implants and a further £600 of botox injections in her face.

She also appeared on the show 50 Greatest Plastic Surgery Shockers.

If you aren’t familiar with Ms Edwards, she had surgery to resemble the cartoon character Jessica Rabbit from 1988 cartoon classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Jack Johnson

Johnson spent the money on procedures for his cheeks, chin, eyebrows, lips, teeth and tanning injections to try to achieve the look of the former England captain.

And in 2020, he asked the public to pay for his £3,500 new teeth – crowdfunding for a full set of dental veneers, despite the fact that he lived on benefits.

He also said he wanted plastic surgery procedures, including lip fillers, to be free through the NHS.

Have you guessed it yet?

Despite spending thousands of pounds to look like David Beckham, in 2019 Mr Johnson revealed plans for a sex change to emulate the sports star’s wife, Victoria.

At the time, he reportedly said: ‘I love her face and body, everything about her, and I’m going to look like her twin when I’m done’

‘Altogether it’s going to cost the taxpayers about £18,000 for my sex change and face lift.’

The fan was revealed to be on an NHS waiting list for surgery at the time, but since the announcement they have stayed out of the limelight and Johnson even deleted his Instagram account.
