Jordan Banjo forced to move house and cement thrown at car after BGT controversy
Jordan Banjo discusses his ‘beautiful’ wedding day
Diversity member Jordan Banjo has described how his family were terrorised and forced to move following the dance troupe’s controversial Black Lives Matter inspired routine on Britain’s Got Talent three years ago.
The dad of three said: “It was really scary, I had to move house. I remember I came out one time and there was cement thrown at my car.
“There was two guys trying to climb my fence into my garden, I had to get the police,” he recalled,
There were also incidents with intruders “scuttling off” into the fields behind his home, which led him to take drastic action.
“In the end, because I’m not there a lot [due to work] I had to move house. And I took the kids and [wife] Naomi and we just went because I didn’t feel comfortable there,” he revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail.

The performance was devised following the death of unarmed George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis.
The politically charged routine resulted in more than 23,000 complaints to media regulator Ofcom.
However, the controversial dance also went on to win the BAFTA TV award for Must See Moment.
In September last year, Ofcom confirmed that it wouldn’t investigate the incident, despite viewer complaints soaring to 24,500 by last count.
The performance has become the eighth most complained about UK television moment of all time.
Much of the criticism of the performance came from people concerned about a political statement being during a prime-time Saturday evening slot.
Following the furore Jordan’s brother Ashley took to his Instagram to explain to his 894,000 followers what the performance was really about.
“It was something we wanted to bring to the stage to give people hope, but also not to shy away from the difficult conversations and the difficult issues that have arisen this year,” he said at the time.

He also revealed that as a result of the complaints, he had received racist abuse on social media.
“A lot of the negativity and the nastiness and the racism shows exactly why this performance was needed, and exactly why this conversation that has now arisen from it is necessary.
“Racism is very real. I knew it before, and I definitely know it now,” the dancer continued to tell his followers.
“A lot of people were offended at the political nature of that statement, but that’s never what we intended.
“Black lives mattered long before it was anything political or affiliated with any one set of people.”
