Madonna’s family ‘prepared for worst’ after singer rushed to ICU

Madonna’s former husband Guy Ritchie is reportedly ready to “drop everything” so he can be with the pop star amid her recent health ordeal.

Last month, the 64-year-old was admitted to hospital after suffering from a bacterial infection.

After spending several nights in intensive care, the Material Girl singer was allowed home and is apparently already turning her attention towards touring.

However, a source has recently claimed to Closer Magazine that her ex Guy, 54, could be jetting to New York to see her soon.

The unnamed source suggested that the RocknRolla director has “offered to drop everything” for Madonna.

“For all of their differences, she’s still the mother of his first-born child and a force of nature.

“He truly respects her and that’s why he wants to help any way he possibly can,” they said.

Furthermore, it is said that Guy is “not taking no for an answer” and that he is “proud” of their son, Rocco, 22, for teaming up with his siblings “to support their mum”.

Guy will reportedly “help in any way he can” following Madonna’s “life-threatening situation” and her period of recovery.

Madonna met her ex-husband, Guy, in the late 90s. At the time, the pair were both in attendance at a friend’s dinner party.

According to the Mirror, Sting’s wife, Trudie Styler, was playing matchmaker when she invited them to her London home, and the pair quickly hit it off.

Madonna and Guy welcomed their son, Rocco, into the world on August 11 2000, and were married four months later at Skibo Castle in Scotland.

In 2004, the couple renewed their marriage vows, and in 2005 adopted their son, David Banda, 17.

A year later, the stars adopted another child, this time a daughter named Mercy James, 17.

In December 2008, it was confirmed that the pair had agreed to a divorce and would divide their team between London and New York so that they could look after their three children.

Madonna is currently recovering from her recent health battle and this week took to Instagram to deliver an update to her fans.

Sharing a message to her 19 million followers, she wrote: “Thank you for your positive energy, Prayers and words of healing and encouragement. I have felt your love.”

The mum-of-six went on to say that she did not want to “disappoint” anybody who had purchased tickets for her upcoming tour and that she also didn’t want to let her colleagues down.

“My focus now is my health and getting stronger and I can assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can!

“I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support,” she added.
