NeNe Leakes’ Son Bryson Throws Brother Under the Bus During Arrest for Drug Possession

According to arrest records, the 33-year-old pretended to be his brother Brentt Leakes when he was arrested earlier this month and gave a false address to cops, resulting in him getting an additional charge.

AceShowbizNeNe Leakes‘ son Bryson Bryant has had a run-in with the law and was trying to dodge it by throwing his brother under the bus. The eldest son of the reality TV star reportedly gave false information to police, including pretending to be his younger brother Brentt Leakes, when he was arrested for felony possession of drugs earlier this week.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Bryson was arrested on July 3 at around 1 A.M. at a home in Lawrenceville, Georgia for felony possession of Fentanyl, a Schedule II-controlled substance. In addition to the drug charge, he was hit with a misdemeanor “loitering/prowling” charge.

Police claimed in the arrest records that Bryson was at the address in question “evading police and claiming he knew the people that lived at the residence which was false.” When asked for his name, Bryson told officers he was his younger brother Brentt, whom NeNe had with her late husband Gregg Leakes. As a result, the first few filings in the criminal case have Brentt’s name on it. Bryson and Brentt do not share the same father.

Bryson was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail at around 2:36 A.M. and his bond was set at $5,900. He was released at 12:20 P.M. During booking, Bryson reportedly gave officers an address to a home that NeNe sold off years ago.

Prosecutors have since added a charge of “giving a false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer.” The updated filing listed the defendant as Bryson Rashard Bryant with a date of birth of 12/26/1989. Bryson was rearrested and is currently still behind bars.

Bryson was also accused of violating probation in another case. His hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. local time.

Neither NeNe nor Bryson has spoken up on his arrest. Last year, her son Brentt suffered a heart attack and a stroke. He was rushed to the hospital where he stayed for months. “Two weeks ago today, Brentt had congestive heart failure and a stroke. He’s only 23, so he’s really young for something like that to happen to him,” she said in an Instagram Story video back in October. She went on noting that her son “doesn’t drink or do drugs.”

In November, the former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star was overjoyed as Brentt walked out of the hospital. As staff cheered around him, the 55-year-old mother of two exclaimed, “Yay! You’re walking out.”
