Alison Hammond ‘really upset’ as Eamonn Holmes claims Holly Willoughby used her

This Morning star Holly Willoughby wants to patch things up with co-star Alison Hammond amid the ongoing fallout of the Phillip Schofield scandal.

Former host Eamonn Holmes has accused Holly of “faking” her friendship with Alison – and things have been awkward on set since he made that bombshell claim.

Eamonn said it was "disgusting" that Holly was "using" former Big Brother contestant Alison, and he claimed their “sudden” friendship "wouldn't have happened 13 years ago".

But a source has now told Heat magazine that Holly wants to smooth things over with Alison, who is said to be very upset by what’s happened.

"The last thing Holly wants is to fall out with Alison over this," the source said.

“Alison was really upset by her name getting mentioned in his interview.

"She’s heartbroken that Eamonn would drag her into this. She’s always got on with Holly."

Speaking to Dan Wootton on GB News recently, Eamonn said: "This nonsense about Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond as her best friend and [Holly] was at Alison's birthday party…Alison Hammond goes to Holly Willoughby's select nights out with her friends…

"This wouldn't have happened two years ago. Are you kidding? Alison Hammond has been on the programme 13 years and I'm sure there was very little contact between her and the presenters.

"People just use other people and it's disgusting."

Holly has already hit back at Eamonn’s comments, telling her co-stars that “Alison can't come because she's at mine tonight”.

The spat followed the stunning fall from grace of Phillip, who quit the ITV programme when it emerged he’d been having an affair with a young runner on the show.

Addressing the scandal, which looks certain to have finished the 61-year-old’s ITV career, father-of-two Phillip has since revealed that he has texted Holly in a bid to repair their relationship, but he didn’t receive a reply.

Eamonn has accused ITV of staging a cover-up of the whole thing, insisting that there must have been some knowledge of Phillip’s behaviour among the broadcaster’s top brass.
