Coronation Street’s Ryan Connor goes missing after seeing injuries

Corrie: Daisy Midgeley targeted with acid attack

Last month, ITV viewers watched in horror as Ryan Connor (played by Ryan Prescott) became the victim of a harrowing acid attack. While he remains in the hospital recovering, Coronation Street fans will see the extent of his injuries in upcoming scenes next week. However, it looks as though it all becomes too much for Ryan as he flees without a word.

After months of Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) being terrorised by her obsessive stalker Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still), he took drastic action on the day of her wedding.

In a twisted way to make her look undesirable to others, Justin threw acid at Daisy before she left The Rovers pub to marry Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

However, his evil plot didn’t go to plan when Ryan jumped in the way and became the victim of the attack which was meant for Daisy.

As Ryan was rushed into hospital, Justin was arrested for the assault with his plea hearing to be shown next week.

In upcoming scenes, Daisy can’t bring herself to attend the hearing with Daniel going in her place.

Although he’s left stunned when Justin pleads not guilty to his crimes, as he prepares to tell Daisy.

Later on, she heads to the hospital to break the news to Ryan who’s being visited by ex-girlfriend Alya Nazir (Sair Khan).

Both of them are shocked to hear Justin’s pleaded not guilty as he confesses to being scared at the thought of having to relive the whole nightmare out again in court.

Comforting him, Alya assures Ryan she’ll be right by his side the entire time which prompts him to admit he still loves her.

Not knowing how Ryan feels about his ex, Daisy decides to bring Crystal Hide rin Austen) to see him hoping it’ll boost his confidence.

Later on, he thanks Daisy for the visit as he confesses the chat they had about gigs in Ibiza has given him something to focus on.

As Carla Connor (Alison King) comes in for support, Ryan tells the surgeon he’s ready to look at his injuries for the first time.

While looking at the scars, he’s dealt a blow when the surgeon reveals he’s not healing as they’d hoped, meaning he’ll need a skin graft.

When Daisy and Carla go into Ryan’s room to check on him, they’re taken aback when they discover he’s missing and his backpack has gone.

Worried about where he’s gone, a search party is organised to try and find him.

Although when Carla and Daisy find him by the tram station, it’s clear he’s traumatised by the whole situation.

Speaking to Daniel, Daisy confesses she can’t bring herself to tell Ryan that Crystal has decided she wants nothing more to do with him.

However, there’s good news for Ryan when he’s told by the doctors the skin graft was successful and he’s now free to go home.

Heading off to the canteen, it’s clear Ryan is struggling with his new scars as he becomes paranoid when seeing a group of nurses giggling, leaving him wondering if they’re laughing at him.

He later lashes out to Alya that he wants to be left alone after a little girl runs into his room chasing her ball and stares at his face, full of curiosity.

Coronation Street continues Mondays. Wednesdays and Fridays on ITVX and ITV1 from 8pm.
