Emmerdale star confirms talks for Jamie Tate return

Prior to Caleb Milligan (William Ash) arriving in Emmerdale, Kim Tate (Claire King) had her troublesome son, Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) to deal with.

Responsible for poisoning Kim, Jamie disappeared from village life back in 2021, when he crashed his 4×4 into a lake.

As Kim and Gabby (Rosie Bentham) slowly accepted that Jamie had died, it became apparent that it was all fake, as he was alive and living with Hazel, Andrea Tate’s mother.

After managing to get Jamie’s daughter back into his care, last year, when Hazel ended up in hospital, Kim discovered the truth about her son’s deception.

Kim learnt that following a confrontation, Jamie pushed Hazel down the stairs. The family were living in a house in the middle of nowhere, with Jamie desperate to keep his identity hidden so he wouldn’t be spotted.

As the police got involved, Kim was given confirmation that Jamie is alive and hasn’t been mentioned since…partly because Kim’s had to deal with the small matter of Frank Tate’s secret son coming into her life…minor details.

With Alexander Lincoln’s acting career developing through a Netflix film, the star is enjoying seeing what life has to offer away from the soap, but has previously spoken about returning.

‘I miss everyone from the show deeply’, he told Attitude Magazine.

‘No one knew who I was before it — I’d done some very tiny things. It was my initiation into the acting world.

‘I can never thank them enough for that experience. But I don’t know, to be honest. There have been talks. But for now, I really want to focus on this year: I want to produce, start my own scripts.’

‘There are other parts I want to play’, he added.

‘There are time constraints. Being on the show, it’s such hard work — you don’t have time to do anything else. Booking a holiday is hard enough!’
