Emmerdale viewers were left baffled during the latest visit to the village after Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) smacked creepy newcomer Lloyd.

The mechanic saw red during Wednesday's (July 5) episode of the ITV soap.

In recent scenes, Dan warned Lloyd away from his daughter Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) and blocked his number.

However, his stern words seemed to have had no effect as the staler turned up at the church the following day in a bid to speak to Amelia.

The young mum was left scared but Lloyd tried to explain his actions.

Dan’s good mood was disrupted when he spotted Lloyd and Amelia together.

Marching over from outside the garage to confront his daughter’s unapologetic stalker, Dan snapped and punched Lloyd.

Emmerdale fans rushed to Twitter as they spotted an issue with the attack scene.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Dan punches him and he hits his head on a well placed rock, much like when Cain punched Joe. Come on ITV hurry up and replace these producers."

Another added: "Deadly Emmerdale rock strikes again."

A third person posted: "The classic head landing on the one lonely rock!!!!!!!!"

While a fourth social media user said: "I swear that rock moves around the village and is always placed where someone dies or almost dies outside. Serial killer rock."

"They need to remove the rocks in #Emmerdale. This must be the tenth time someone fell and hit their head on a rock," a fifth said.

Actor Liam Fox previously teased that Dan could be heading to prison after being taken away from the village by police officers.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, he explained: "He's got to that point where it ain't looking good but who knows?"

"I think for someone like Dan it wouldn't do him any favours at all.

"I think he'd come out worse than when he went in because he's not a villain."

Liam, who has played Dan since 2011, continued: "I've done a bit of research into these things, I didn't meet anybody, but I watched films and videos online of not only perpetrators of violence but also victims families and it's just sad really.

"Nine times out of 10 the person who's hit the other person didn't want this. I think it's really good we're covering this.

"If Dan gets locked up it will change everything.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
