Saturday Kitchen fans were less than impressed by the show this weekend (July 1) as they “couldn’t hear what was going on” amid “chaos” on-set.

On the show today, host Matt Tebbutt was joined by chefs Paul Ainsworth and Angela Hartnett, along with their celebrity guest Les Dennis, with Helen McGinn on hand to choose the wines.

But with so much going on in the studio – and with chef Guiseppe Federici and his nona joining them later to show them how to cook Italian food – fans couldn’t hear themselves think and were left complaining.

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, one moaned: “I enjoy Saturday Kitchen but today is one of those days when it’s full of in jokes between the chefs – cue so much raucous laughing that you can’t hear people speak.”

Someone else agreed: “Anyone else find Saturday Kitchen really noisy? The racket they were making today I had to switch over to James Martin’s show instead!”

“Don’t understand all the manic hysterical laughter?!” another fan wrote.

While somebody else fumed: “Am I missing something, what’s so funny? #SaturdayKitchen.”

“Saturday Kitchen Live on BBC One has become unwatchable… it seems compulsory that all chefs and cooks laugh uproariously at any minor quip – it becomes a competition as to who can laugh loudest and longest.

“Drives me to distraction. Can’t watch anymore! Awful,” another social media user penned.

It's not the first time fans have complained – as last week they were annoyed by one star who "smashed her way through the kitchen".

Presenter Anna Haugh was churning bread through the food processor, which proceeded to make a deafening sound while her co-stars tried to speak.

Anna then lifted the processor off the base and made a loud banging noise as it hit the surface below multiple times.

In the end her co-star Chantelle was forced to check she was okay, as Anna threw her hands in the air – wooden spoon in one and food processor in the other.

She joked: "I know! Just smashing my way around the kitchen here!"
