Boris Johnson slams Ukraine Nato membership delay in new Mail column

Boris Johnson slams Nato for dithering over Ukraine’s membership in latest Daily Mail column

  • Boris Johnson’s new column will be on MailOnline later today

Boris Johnson’s staunch backing of Ukraine in No10 was hailed by Volodymyr Zelensky as critical in helping the country survive the Russian onslaught.

The two leaders struck up a ‘bromance’, holding long emotional phone calls as Kyiv came under threat in the early stages of the war.

And the ex-PM is returning to the topic of the crucial military campaign in his latest column for the Mail.

In a video teasing the thundering article – which will be released at around 5pm – Boris delivers a stinging rebuke to the international community for being ‘fatally ambiguous’ about Ukraine’s status and whether it should join Nato.

He expresses frustration that even after 20 years of dithering, the Vilnius summit this week still did not provide clarity about when Kyiv’s membership will happen.

‘Time for Ukraine to be given a clear timetable to join Nato,’ the former premier says.

You can watch the trailer now, and read the column at 5pm on MailOnline and our subscription sister site Mail+.

Boris’s full-page column will also appear in the Daily Mail every Saturday – along with fellow star names Amanda Platell and Andrew Neil.
