ONE Tree Hill star Bevin Prince shared a series of heartbreaking snaps of her husband – months before he was killed in a lightning strike.

William Friend, 33, was found unconscious on a boat near Masonboro Island, North Carolina on July 3.


On February 22, Prince, 39, shared a picture of Friend with their dog Winston as they marked their pet's first birthday.

She also paid tribute to her husband on Valentine's Day in a heartbreaking snap.

The actress said: “Happy Valentines Day! I love you both more than words.”

She signed off the post with two red love hearts.

Prince and Friend tied the knot in May 2016 and the pair moved to North Carolina during the Covid pandemic to be near her family.

She paid tribute to Friend as they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in May 2021.

She said: “Winston and I are so lucky to know you, to love you, and to learn with you.

“We have come so far and I am so proud of the life we have built.

“You make my life delicious. My love. I love you.”

In May 2020, Prince said her husband made "life sweeter".

Actress Odette Annable confirmed his death in a heartbreaking Instagram post.

She said: "The unimaginable has happened and we have to say goodbye to another friend.

"The life and love that you gave to my best friend made it feel okay that we were thousands of miles apart.

"What a gift you gave to everyone who knew you to witness the passion that burned in your soul.

"The passion to help people, to build your business, to find happiness like I'd never seen from you living in North Carolina with Bevin.

"You were perfect for her in every way."

Friend was the CEO of commercial real estate company Bisnow for the past seven years.
