Strictly’s Kym Marsh breaks down in tears as she discusses exit from BBC One show
Kym Marsh was very emotional on Monday's It Takes Two following her exit from Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
The former Coronation Street actress, 46, was eliminated in the BBC One show's Musicals special, in a dance off against CBBC actress Molly Rainford and her partner Carlos Gu.
Kym had missed the previous week's show due to testing positive for Covid-19, making a comeback with a Fame-inspired Cha Cha Cha with partner Graziano Di Prima, 28.
However, the pair were voted off on Saturday with the duo saying their goodbyes on It Takes Two in an interview with Rylan Clark on Monday.
When asked how she reflected on her final live show, Kym said: "I absolutely had a blast.
"We made a decision and mentally in my head, I was like, 'I've got this far in the competition, now anything is a bonus and I'm just going to go out and enjoy myself', and I was living my best life."
The actress had a really strong bond with her Italian professional partner, and they both owed a lot of their success on the show to the friendship they formed.
"Our friendship is the answer, and in every prop that we had in our journey on Strictly, whether there was a moment where we had percussions or where we had accents, I knew that was the moment where [Kym] could literally deliver it herself," said Graziano.
"I've loved every song that we have done but this one, there's something special because yes, she was thinking about the legs, the accent, but she was literally living, living it from the beginning to the end."
Rylan also asked if Kym's turn on the show could lead to West End roles.
"It's always lovely to think that might be an option and now that I've proved to myself that I can dance I can do it! I'm 46 years old, and I can still dance like a spring chicken!"
Kym added of her pro partner: "He's great, he's brilliant, because he's just always like stay focused, stay focused, and I do go into a zone, I did it when we did Samba week and this week in particular… I was like, if this is the last time I'm dancing. I am going out on a high!"
"This week in particular you were stronger than me mentally," Graziano chimed.
The pair both looked emotional when talking about their bond with one another, with Graziano telling Rylan he'd made a "friend for life" on what has been his "best season" on the show in four years as a pro.
"I really have genuinely met a unique person," added Kym.

"You're a very, very special man and I will never, ever forget what you've done for me on this journey. It's been incredible."
Kym also commented that she sees Graziano as part of her family, and that he was staying with her after the show for some "family time".
The semi-final of the show, which will see each couple perform two dances for the first time this series, will be taking place on Sunday 11 Dec, with the results airing on Monday 12 Dec.
The grand final of the show will take place on Saturday 17 Dec, in a return to usual programming.
