COMEDIAN Rosie Jones has seen her star soar since bursting onto the comedy circuit.

The talented star has also become a TV favourite, and is not shy to speak out when it comes to the topic of disability.

Who is Rosie Jones?

Born in Yorkshire on June 24, 1990, Rosie Jones is a comedian, writer and actress.

She is best known for her work on comedy panel shows, as well as her stand up tours.

Rosie has forged an impressive career on the comedy circuit, and often performs at the Edinburgh Fringe.

She is also the author of a children's book, The Amazing Edie Eckhart, about an 11-year-old girl with cerebral palsy.

Does Rosie Jones have a disability?

Rosie was born with cerebral palsy, something which she often talks about in her comedy routines.

She has been very open about the rights of disabled people, describing bullying that she has experienced and difficulties in her daily life.

Rosie previously expressed concerns over the particular vulnerability of disabled people during the Covid pandemic, and the way emphasis on the virus affecting people with pre-existing conditions has led to disabled people being coded as "second class citizens".

During an interview with The Guardian, Jones commented: "I would love in the next few years to see more disabled comedians, directors, producers, commissioners.

Is Rosie Jones married and does she have children?

As of July 2023 Rosie is single and doesn't have children, but has previously talked about being gay.

On the BBC Sounds podcast Duvet Days, she said: "Growing up, there was nobody in TV or radio that looked like me – that sounded like me.

"There was Francesca Martinez in Grange Hill, but that was the only person really.

"And also my sexuality came into that, like when there was a disabled person they were very much the victim and they didn’t have a sexuality, they were very much the stock disabled person.

"That meant growing up, I didn’t accept my sexuality because I thought I’m not gay and disabled."
