A SELFRIDGES customer was left stunned when he called to complain about a refund and found the handler asleep.
Warren Moore, 30, phoned the high-end department store to complain about not getting a refund for a £150 Hugo boss long-sleeve top.
The gas engineer called on Wednesday and was on hold for around 10 minutes before getting through to a call handler.
But he was stunned when he could hear him snoring for several seconds on the other line.
After repeatedly shouting "hello", Warren of Baildon, Essex, appeared to be able to wake him.
Probably embarrassed by the situation, the handler then ended the call after complaining he could not hear anything.

Warren said: "I couldn't believe it.
"After being on hold for a while, someone finally answered and he was asleep.
"I could hear him snoring. It was very loud. I thought well that's not ideal.
"It was deep breathing and then I managed to wake him up.

"It sounded like he was working from home and he sort of pretended there was nothing wrong then seemed to end the call."
The Sun contacted Selfridges for comment.
Last year call centre workers shared the real reasons it may sometimes take a while for calls to be answered.
One worker revealed that while callers wait patiently on hold, staff members at the other end could be carrying out all manner of tasks.
One person confessed: "I used to love putting customers on hold so I could eat my dinner."
It was also discovered that call operators can sometimes still hear you once you've been put on hold.
This revelation came when writer EJ Dickson posted on Twitter: "Today I learned that if someone puts you on hold and you sing along to the on-hold music and make up your own lyrics, people can in fact hear you and will in fact say something about it."
