Shocking moment thug with knife lunges at Tesco worker after trying to shoplift during rampage | The Sun

THIS is the shocking moment a thug lunges at a Tesco worker with a knife after the employee bravely attempted to wrestle stolen goods from him.

The chaos exploded at the supermarket entrance in Bristol – where terrifying CCTV footage shows career criminal Josh James, 33, slashing the weapon at staff before smashing the entrance windows.

James carried out the horrifying assault together with associate Bobbie Reynolds, 30.

Both men had executed a number of offences together between October last year and March this year.

The menacing duo had been shoplifting moments before a brave employee confronted them.

Heart-in-mouth footage shows James thrusting the knife towards the worker after he was forced out of the store – who then smashes the windows of the automatic doors before fleeing the scene.

At Bristol Crown Court on Friday, James was jailed for eight years for a six-month crime spree which included the robbery of the same man on three occassions as well as a spate of burglaries across Bristol.

Reynolds was handed a two-year sentence.

Investigating officer, PC Hannah Baynham, said: "Through witnesses and good quality CCTV, we were able to link James and Reynolds' series of crimes and hold them to account for the impact they have had on the victims.

"Burglary and robbery are extremely serious crimes and we recognise the profound impact offences can have on victims, leaving them feeling unsafe in their homes and workplaces.

"James is dangerous and it is clear from the extent of his offending, that he has no awareness of the impact his actions have had on the lives of others.

"I hope his sentence will be welcomed by his victims and I hope Reynolds makes the most of her rehabilitation activities."
