A pet dubbed the "world's biggest cat" has grown so big that he can now open a door to get out to the garden.

Kefir, a white furry Maine Coon, is often mistaken as a dog due to his long torso and tall legs.

In videos taken by owner Yulia Minina last year, the cat stands as tall as her then two-year-old daughter.

It gained the ginormous internet fame and he was crowned "the gentle giant" by fans worldwide.

Last month Yulia gave updates on Instagram and shared a new video of Kefir.

He is seen standing on two legs before opening a door with ease as his paw hits the handle.

The moggi ventures to the patio area and hops on a sun lounger before having a nosey around the veggie patch.

After the play, Yulia rubs the dirt off Kefir using a pet grooming shampoo.

She said: "The courtyard is out favourite family location. Not a day without [a stroll in] the street and not a day without the help of the coolest tools.

"The video shows a small part of all Kef's entertainment and a small part of my favourite cleaning assistants."

Fans were overjoyed to see Kefir.

"Look at the size of the cat!" one commented with a heart emoji.

Another commented: "How tall is he now when standing up on two legs?"

A third added: "Wow, what a good looking kitty! Kefir, you are a walking cotton."

"We want more Kefir videos, this giant cat is so pretty!" a fourth penned.
