Iconic Aussie soap star unrecognisable as he plays cricket in Wales

Legendary Australian soap star is unrecognisable as he lines up to play cricket in Wales – do YOU know who he is?

Neighbours actor Mark Little looked totally different from his soap character in pictures taken for his local cricket team.

The actor, 63, who appeared on the Australian serial from 1988 to 1991 and again in 2005, and 2022, now lives in a rural farmhouse in Wales after playing Joe Mangel Down Under on television.

He previously had a clean-cut appearance with short hair and a close-shaven beard but he looked very different as he posed with his sports team.

The star could be seen beaming in the photograph, while looking completely different with white wavy hair and a bushy beard to match.

Mark was dressed in his cricket whites and he wore a peaked red cap on his head.

It comes after Mark resurfaced on television last month, once again showing off his long hair and beard at the time.

After he appeared on BBC cricket talk-show View from the Boundary, viewers took to Twitter to express their surprise.

Some compared Mark’s new look to that of former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Others likened him to mustachioed British singer Robert Plant.

While some claimed he looked more like English TV presenter James May.

Mark made a surprise cameo in an episode of Neighbours late last year.

The Brisbane-born actor currently lives in a remote Welsh farmhouse, and was unable to fly to Melbourne to film his cameo on set with the cast.

His character instead joined Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) for a video call scene.

At the time of his return to the franchise it was believed Neighbours would be ending after 17 years on-air.

However, the show has since been rebooted by Amazon’s Prime Video.

Mark’s portrayal of Joe as a down-to-earth labourer who loved a drink resonated with viewers in Britain and Australia.

Fans were disappointed in 1991 when Mark chose not to renew his contract so he could pursue other opportunities.
