Olly Murs admits he broke down in tears as he watched bride Amelia Tank walk down the aisle in his first interview since their festival-themed wedding
Olly Murs has revealed he broke down in tears as he watched his bride Amelia Tank walk down the aisle at his wedding, insisting she ‘looked out of this world’.
Singer Olly, 39, and professional bodybuilder Amelia, 31, married in a lavish ceremony in front of friends and family on Osea Island in the Blackwater Estuary, in his native Essex last Saturday.
Guests were spotted arriving in coaches ahead of the three-day festival-themed wedding 13 months after former The X Factor star proposed.
And hitmaker Olly was unable to hold back his tears as he watched Amelia arrive in her custom-made wedding gown, insisting it was a moment he’ll never forget.
He told Hello! magazine: ‘I was blown away by how amazing it was. It was quite magical – the perfect celebration of our love.’

Olly added: ‘I was on the brink of crying at any moment. When my nephews walked down the aisle, I was gone, then when Amelia came in – oh my God! My mum said she hasn’t seen me cry like that since I was four years old!’
Amelia enlisted the help of Australia-based bridal house Pallas Couture for a number of months to perfect her wedding dress.
The garment was decorated with beaded floral embroidery, and featured detached sleeves and a long sweeping train with a floor-length veil.
Olly said: ‘Seeing Amelia walk down the aisle was something I’ll never ever forget. She looked out of this world.’
The wedding, which was nicknamed Murs Fest, saw a number of big musical names perform, including Olly himself and fellow singer Craig David.
A total of 71 people joined the couple on the Friday night for a BBQ before they exchanged vows the following afternoon.
On the Sunday morning, a further 70 of Olly and Amelia’s family and friends arrived on Osea Island by boat, including Olly’s television personality friend Mark Wright.
Olly’s house band and singer Katie Holmes-Smith – who is currently performing with Adele at her residency in Las Vegas – took to the stage, followed by Heart FM DJ Pandora Christie.

Olly and Amelia who met on Instagram in 2019, went public with their romance in 2020, and enjoyed a total of four stag and hen parties between them ahead of their nuptials.
The week before the wedding, Olly admitted he’d turned into a ‘groomzilla’ after discovering a love of flowers and irritating his wedding planner.
He told the Mirror: ‘I’m a groomzilla. I never expected it, I thought I’d be the opposite. I’m like, “No, no, no. Get rid of that, change that, move that”.
‘I didn’t know I cared so much about what the flowers look like but, honest to God, if I’m reincarnated, I’m coming back as a florist.’
Olly joked: ‘There’s a lady helping us plan the wedding and I said to her, ”I don’t want ugly chairs, you know those horrible school chairs that are horrendous”. She said, ”Olly, I’ve been doing this for a long time…”’
Olly and Amelia enjoyed wild stag and hen parties ahead of their nuptials last month, with the bride-to-be jetting to Marbella with a group of pals.
Donning bridal white loungewear and a matching veil, Amelia’s clip showed herself and her pals dancing onto the plane for their hen party, before arriving at their stunning villa filled with personalised goody bags.
The group then donned their best bikinis and headed to the pool for a spot of sunbathing, before larking around together in their Olly masks.

After putting on their best outfits, Amelia and her friends enjoyed a boozy dinner together, as the blonde beauty enjoyed her last months as a single woman.
His wife-to-be celebrated her first hen in May ahead of their wedding and stunned in a sequin jumpsuit as she enjoyed the London-based celebration ahead of jetting abroad.
Olly also let loose on the second weekend of his wild stag do as he headed out dressed up as footballer Jack Grealish.
The singer wished for ‘luck’ on round two of the boozy celebrations with pals, ensuring he said goodbye to single life in style.
Olly was clad in a Manchester City top and wore his blonde locks swept back as he emulated his favourite player in Instagram snaps.
He captioned the shot: ‘Oh f***!! The Essex Jack Grealish is on his stag!! Wish me luck been nice knowing you all.’

His first crazy stag do took place after his Belfast gig where he was surprised by his pals amid the Marry Me tour.
Olly and his mates partied up a storm at a bar named Ollies in the Northern Ireland capital where Olly wore a novelty T-shirt which read: ‘Sorry ladies this guy is getting married.’
Meanwhile his pals wore matching black tops with ‘Straight Outta Essex,’ written on them as well as veils that read, ‘Marry Me’.
After returning to his hotel, Olly gave his fans an update, saying: ‘What a night, in bed after the gig and the lads surprising me with a night out in Belfast. Loved it! Pretty drunk now! But time for a ham and cheese toastie.’
