PICTURE EXCLUSIVE: Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling put on a united display on VERY star-studded night out amid marital woes… as they both ditch their wedding rings

Ellie Goulding and her husband Casper Jopling stepped out in London on Monday night as they put on a united display amid their marital woes. 

The singer, 36, put on a glamorous display as she joined the art dealer, 31, in ditching their wedding rings for the event at The Twenty Two hotel in Grosvenor Square. 

An insider told The Daily Mail: ‘The pair seemed awkward on arrival and almost appeared to put on a show when leaving the venue’. Sources revealed the couple arrived together and left together before Caspar returned to the bash alone.’ 

The duo, who began dating in 2017 and tied the knot two years later at York Minster, partied alongside Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Nicky Hilton, Cara Delevingne, Idris Elba, Princess Beatrice, and former Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Ellie was not letting her personal woes throw off her sensational style as she emerged in a racy sheer dress while Caspar was smartly-clad for the dinner, which was hosted by the hotel owner Jamie Reuben.

Ellie, who sang at Prince William and Kate’s wedding reception, was introduced to Eton-educated Jopling through mutual friends.

They married at York Minster with Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, and her sister Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi among the guests.

The latter two joined the night out, both putting on a stylish display and beaming while joining their pals for a night of fun and frolics. 

Also in attendance was Cara Delevingne, who appeared to be shunning the furore surrounding her unlikely spat with Sky Sports favourite Martin Brundle.

The beleaguered model and actress, 30, put her calamitous Silverstone appearance behind her as she looked typically stylish in a caramel coloured double-breasted blazer and generously cut leather trousers as she climbed from the rear of her car.

She completed the look with a form-fitting black crop top, while heavy-duty black leather boots rounded off her ensemble as she crossed the pavement, an iPhone pressed to her ear.

Katy, 38, meanwhile looked more loved-up than ever as she held onto fiancé Orlando’s arm at the dinner, during which she sizzled in a plunging sleeveless dress which boasted a ruffled draping split at the front. 

Katy turned up the heat as she teamed the figure hugging number with a pair of towering lace up heels and accessorised with a pair of gold drop earrings. 

Last month pictures emerged of Ellie and Caspar looking glum at the Serpentine Summer Party in Kensington Gardens, where Ellie went without her wedding ring. Caspar went on to another party at the Chiltern Firehouse without his wife.

Ellie was also missing her wedding band when the couple were seen in London with their son Arthur earlier in the month and now on Monday night again. 

A source said: ‘Things have been bad for at least six months now, both parties have been really trying to be happy together for the sake of their son but these things can only take so long before it is untenable.

‘Ellie’s team were insisting that she and Caspar were happy, that any suggestions of them being apart were totally untrue and now this. It has all been very mysterious indeed.’

Jopling, who works for auction house Sotheby’s, appeared to brush aside their alleged marital struggles last week by sharing a picture of the Love Me Like You Do singer on his Instagram account.

Ellie was posing in front of an artwork by Tracey Emin for a post celebrating her 60th birthday. The singer has reportedly struck up a friendship with millionaire Tory peer Zac Goldsmith with the pair bonding over a passion for saving the environment.

One friend told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Ellie and Zac have a shared interest, saving the environment. They plainly know one another and talk away from their environmental work. They come from very different backgrounds but have struck up a friendship.’

A spokesman for Ellie said: ‘To say that Ellie speaks to Zac Goldsmith outside of work is completely untrue.’ Mr Goldsmith declined to comment.
